JAKARTA (3 Nov 2011) – Defender Win Aung Kyaw certainly did not expect such a finish. But in the end, all the hard work and discipline paid off on the night when his strike at the tail end of the second half gave ten man Myanmar a well-deserved 3-2 win over Laos in the second match of Group B of the men’s football event at the Stadion Utama Gelora Bung KarnWith the evening sky opening up just ten minutes into the tie, the game was always going to be long and testing for both Myanmar and Laos.

Laos coach Hans-Peter Schaller believes that his team can achieve satisfactory results at the 26th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games which will take place in Indonesia.


Austrian national Schaller wanted to repeat the Laos achievement in 2009 edition of SEA Games where they finished fourth.


"It's not an easy group. In the last SEA Games, we occupied the fourth position, but it will not be easy to do that again," Schaller told Kompas Bola.

Lao PDR found in 1975 and Laos football team had not participated in SEAGAMES until 1993 .Laos football team was represented the Lao PDR in the SEAGAMES was in 1993 and from that time on Lao PDR sent the team to participate every two years.

SEA GAMES 2011: NINE NEW FACES FOR MYANMAR
YANGON (2 Nov 2011) – Myanmar have listed nine new faces for their SEA Games campaign alongside several who have seen action at the biennial championship previously.
Newly appointed chief coach of the Myanmar U23 side Stefan Hansson has decided to give further opportunities for those players who have made an impression in the Myanmar National League (MNL).
The team is managed by former Myanmar international Tin Aung while Tin Myint Aung is the assistant coach.
